It has undergone many changes, and yet its charm of being a mix of dungeon-crawler and platformer has created many loyalists of the game. The Metroid series is a household name in the Nintendo catalogue. So, if you are looking for a game to get over your Zelda hangover, Super Mario Odyssey is more than a decent pick. Now we all know that the Mario franchise has its own lore, and it is certainly much better to play through it than to read about it.

Like Tears of the Kingdom, Super Mario Odyssey offers its players an opportunity to traverse and explore the Mario universe. And if we are being honest, there are some elements of it that we like even more than the original Mario games! Well, the Odyssey line of the Mario franchise works differently. When we mention Mario, the first thing that comes to mind is an addictive platformer that has set the standard for the genre forever. Now, you can choose different areas to explore instead of being stuck to one fixed storyline.Ī game with a great length that doesn’t overwhelm and separate storylines that are captivating on their own. We also love the fact that the developers try their hand at making the games less linear than their predecessors. The starters are great, and the open-world concept is brilliant.Įxpanding on the open-world format, Tears of the Kingdom did it really well with its insane immersion, and Scarlet and Violet do not fall far behind with its world-building. Despite its bugs and performance issues, these games are still very enjoyable. There’s not much to be said about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet due to their popularity.
